Session 4: Mindfulness, SOBER technique

SOBER stands for stop, observe, breathe, expand, and respond. How did you feel about the SOBER Breathing Space exercise? Did you try the SOBER Coping Space meditation or any others from the series?

Before doing the SOBER breathing space exercise I felt like it wasn’t going to work and I would be wasting my time. But I decided to try it out since I was really stressing out and felt like I was going to lose my mind. When I first did the exercise I felt a little bit less stressed so I tried it again, and I noticed that when I did the exercise I was calmer and I was able to focus on my homework. So far, I just did the SOBER Coping Space meditation but I hope soon to try a new meditation exercise.

The sober breathing space exercise made me feel rally relax. It felt a little funny when I started doing it but throughout it I was able to relax. I didn’t try the coping space meditation but I did try the breathing space one. It helped me relax and just focus on my breathing.

I really enjoyed the SOBER breathing space exercise. I felt as if slowed down all my problems and tasks, which made me feel more confident about completing the things I have to get done.

The SOBER breathing space exercise really made a difference in me during those moments. Especially afterwards but they were positive results. I felt very relaxed and calmer than how I was previously before doing the exercise and I just felt like I was able to breath calm and forget about everything that was stressing me out for a few minutes which felt like heaven. I didn’t try the second part of the coping space meditation but I did try the breathing space one and loved it a lot.

Before I tried the SOBER breathing exercise I felt stressed and felt like I had a lot on my shoulders. After I did the SOBER exercise I felt more relaxed and felt like I was able to breathe again. I felt more calm and less stressed and I would definitely try this exercise again. I would also like to explore more breathing exercises so I can implement them in my daily life when I am feeling stressed again.
