Immigration Allies to Change Agents

    • Immigration Allies to Change Agents

How can we make America a more inclusive space?

It’s going to take individual and collective action to reshape the immigrant experience in our country. In these three short videos you’ll be introduced to people and organizations whose actions ranged from small personal choices to large-scale solutions. We hope you’re inspired to shift from an ally to a change agent.

Begin with a timeline of immigration, followed by Bob Fletcher’s heroic act and lastly, Alyssa Rubin’s narrative behind standing up to ICE. Then create a profile to share your own own story, reflections, commitments, or questions.

In partnership with Driving Force Institute, we at XQ invite you to dive into the videos below.

A history of how America became the patchwork quilt of cultures that we see today.

“The greatest good Samaritan you’ve never heard of” who helped Japanese farmers during internment.

A young change agent sharing the response of the Jewish community to the 2019 detention centers.

    • Thank you so much for sharing these resources.  This collection of videos truly highlight the idea behind Margaret Mead’s quote:

“Never doubtthat a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Individually, we can’t do everything, but we all can do something!
