Darian Wigfall is an author, activist, arts organizer, DJ, and entrepreneur. After graduating from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2006, Darian moved back to St. Louis to be a catalyst for better education and cultural development in his hometown. He is the director of operations for the St. Louis based FarFetched music collective, an art imprint that produces progressive music and art in St. Louis and beyond. He previously served as FarFetched’s director of artist management and development. Darian’s direct action in Ferguson as part of Artivists led to his protest sign being inducted into the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened on September 24, 2016 and was featured in Smithsonian magazine. In recognition of his civil rights efforts and business successes outside of the traditional protest and corporate settings, Darian was featured alongside his collaborative partners in the February 2016 issue of Fortune Magazine in an article about the paths young Black men are charting for themselves. Furthermore, Darian is a youth advocate, serving as a mentor for Black youth.
