Founded by entrepreneurs and music icons Jimmy Iovine and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young, the Iovine and Young Center Integrated Design, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Magnet (known as IYC) is committed to reimagining the high school experience. It opened its doors in 2022 as a collaboration between USC’s Iovine and Young Academy and the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Located on the campus of Audubon Middle School in the Leimert Park neighborhood of LA, IYC offers its students a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary program that fuses its curriculum with real-world, project-based learning opportunities with top institutions and companies. It’s a model of a modern high school grounded in local partnerships. Partners from organizations such as Spotify, Destination Crenshaw, Beauty Country, Microsoft, and community members provide regular feedback to students.
IYC students have unparalleled access to innovative technologies and opportunities to collaborate with top educators, industry experts, and executives. Students develop relevant, 21st-century skills to prepare them for competitive colleges and careers of the future.
IYC offers a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum. Along with the common core curriculum and all California A-G graduation requirements, course offerings include a range of electives that dive deeper into the worlds of design, technology, and entrepreneurship.
